Angel Z. Duong is currently the CEO & Creative Director at AZD Collective where she is a professional performing artist and model. She is a premier dancer with Kansas City’s Empire Dance Company and internationally performs with Quixotic. She has worked with Amazon Prime, NFL Network, H&M Fashion, Boost Mobile, Bad Boy Mowerparts, Professional Bull Riding Association, Kansas City Fashion Week, Heartland International, as well as many more. Additionally, Angel is signed with Next Paige, a Kansas City-based talent and modeling agency.

Cortez Emerson is happy to be joining Musical Theatre Heritage for their shows this season! Growing up in Hannibal, MO has really shaped his identity when it comes to the arts. Graduating from Millikin University in the middle of the pandemic has also made a huge impact on his love for the arts! He is ecstatic to be joining his thespian friends once more on stage with a company that has been doing so many great things here in the Kansas City community. In his free time you can catch him managing events here at Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant on the plaza. has been playing the double bass for over 20 years.  As a performer, she regularly performs with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, Missouri Symphony Orchestra, and the KC Symphony. She is also a founding member of Mind on Fire, a contemporary music collective in Baltimore. As an educator, Kassie maintains an active private teaching studio. She received her Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music and a Master of Music from the Peabody Conservatory, both with a focus on double bass performance. Outside of music, you can find Kassie baking, enjoying time with her family, or helping others at KC Cannabis.

Pete Fucinaro

Saxophonist, composer, and educator, Pete Fucinaro, is based in KC. Pete attended UMKC where he earned a M.A. in saxophone performance. Before that, he earned his undergraduate in jazz studies from the University of North Texas.  In 2020, Pete was a semifinalist in the North American Saxophone Alliance jazz saxophone championship. In 2021, Pete recorded a record entitled V1 with a co-led group called Vector Field.  In 2023, Pete participated in the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program in Washington, DC. At this program, Pete performed on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center as well as the Discover Jazz Festival in Burlington, VT.  Pete can be heard playing with his own group, as a sideman, and touring with his group and other projects.

Since arriving in 2009, Brett Jackson has been establishing himself as a first-call woodwind artist in the flourishing KC music scene. In addition to performances at Starlight Theater, Kansas City Music Hall, MTH, KC Rep and New Theater, he also performs with The Freedom Affair, Chris Hazelton’s Boogaloo 7, Marcus Lewis Big Band, The Project H, Vine Street Rumble and The KC Jazz Orchestra. is a freelance trumpeter and music educator based in KC. She has performed in national tours and presented educational chamber music clinics and recitals throughout the Midwest and New Mexico. Saylor can be heard performing with Opera on the River, the Dubuque Symphony, The Crossroad Sound, Lost Wax, and the KC Kumbiamberos. She was the co-founder of the Tallgrass Brass Band and Motherlode funk band. She is the former principal solo cornetist of the Eastern Iowa Brass Band. Past credits: Bruce Vantine’s Cornerstone Chorale and Brass, the Quincy Symphony, NM Philharmonic, Santa Fe Symphony, the Iowa Brass Quintet, Brass Transit Authority, and Dennis DeYoung and the Music of Styx.
