Jessalyn has been a professional actor, stage manager and director in the KC area for over 25 years, including turns at MTH, KC Rep, New Theatre, Unicorn Theater, KCAT, The Coterie, Quality Hill, and American Heartland Theatre. She is also the Audience & Donor Relations Manager at MTH. She sends her gratitude to Linnaia McKenzie for allowing her this special opportunity.

HOST: Michael is a Kansas City-based neo-traditional country artist known for heartfelt storytelling, clever lyricism, and a sound rooted in classic country with a modern edge. His debut album Out of the Woods (2023) earned critical recognition, landing on Saving Country Music’s “Most Anticipated Albums” list, and his singles have been regularly featured on editorial playlists. Michael’s songwriting has also found a home on major TV networks, with placements on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Discovery Channel. Backed by his seasoned band The Scoundrels, he’s shared stages with Grammy Award Winners Bronwyn Keith-Hynes and Jason Isbell as well as nationally recognized country acts William Clark Green, Tony Logue, and Michael Ray.

Shelly Verden (he/him) is glad to be back at MTH’s Ruby Room! He’s been previously seen in Bohemian Rhapsody NYE and Bad Moon Rising, as well as on the main stage in Rent. Other credits: Mother of Monsters (The Arts Asylum) Jesus Christ Superstar (The Barn Players), Once (Kansas City Repertory Theatre). He is also a songwriter and playwright, with his next play, a new adaptation of Robin Hood, premiering at The Arts Asylum in the summer.
