New York & Broadway Theater Trip

George will book your flights to New York LaGuardia and meet your arriving flight. Private transportation will be provided to the historic ALGONQUIN HOTEL on 44th Street in Manhattan in the heart of the Broadway Theater District. Let’s begin our four days in New York with a cocktail and pre-theater dinner at SARDI’S the famous theater district gathering place for theater folk and reporters. George will have some stories to go along with the caricatures on the walls.

The show after dinner tonight is SOME LIKE IT HOT at the Shubert Theater right across the street. This brand new musical based on the Billy Wilder comedy from 1959, has a score by Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman

This morning George will lead you on a one-hour walking tour of the Broadway Theater District with history & stories about the theaters and the the great Broadway composers.

After the walking tour and a restroom break, George will take you to a Broadway rehearsal hall where we will meet a cast member from one of the shows we’ll be seeing. Find out – first hand – what its like working on Broadway.

Your show tonight IS TBD. Maybe the Tony winning MJ. Let’s see what’s new on the horizon and what’s still running.

Today is left free for you to enjoy the great city of New York in your own way. Options available today include a short walking tour through CENTRAL PARK led by George, visiting Strawberry Fields, Bethesda Fountain, The Minton Tiles, Grand Mall & the Boathouse.

Also available is a water tour of the New York skyline aboard a 1920’s vintage yacht. You will travel along the Hudson River, out into the harbor around the Statue of Liberty (up close) and up the East River under the Brooklyn Bridge. The boat is climate controlled, with light food and a full bar available. COST TBD

Tonight’s theater outing is YOUR CHOICE from a list of Broadway shows George will provide later. This choice will be the third of our four shows INCLUDED IN THE TRIP COST. List of choices will be provided after January 1, 2023. Feel free to suggest one you’ve been waiting to see.
