George Harter’s New York & Broadway Theater Trip
October 15 – 20, 2025
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 15:
Arrive this afternoon in New York City. MTH will book your airfare for you at NO CHARGE upon request. Transportation will be provided to THE CORNELL CLUB At #6 East 44th Street, just off FIFTH AVENUE in midtown.
This evening there will be a get-acquainted cocktail & dinner with wine at SARDI’S, the famous theater haunt on 44th Street.
After our dinner party George will take more hardy souls by subway to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade for a spectacular night view of the Manhattan skyline.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16:
A full breakfast is included each morning of your stay at the Cornell Club. At 10 AM George will take you by private coach for a tour of THE PLAYERS, the historic club for actors founded in 1880 by EDWIN BOOTH.
After a short walk around Gramercy Park passing the stately homes, we then savor a 3-course lunch with wine pairing at the Michelin Star GRAMERCY TAVERN, featuring cuisine by Chef Michael Anthony.
Our first of four Broadway theater outings will feature six-time Tony winner Audra McDonald as Mamma Rose in the 1958 classic GYPSY. George will give a short talk about the show.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17:
Today is left free for you to enjoy New York in your own way; museums, shopping, a favorite restaurant, Central Park or the Highline, or take a coach or water tour of New York.
Tonight, our second Broadway Theater outing is TBD, perhaps SUNSET BLVD, BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB or DEATH BECOMES HER. Let’s wait and see what looks promising leading up to the TONY AWARDS.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18:
The day is free until your matinee performance this afternoon. The ticket is included in the trip price. Maybe you haven’t seen HAMILTON yet. Choose THE OUTSIDERS the big Tony winner, or a new musical or play that looks interesting to your personal tastes.
After theater our final dinner party will be at BARBETTA located in an Astor family townhouse on 46th Street. We begin with a cocktail then a fabulous two-course dinner in the private dining room.
Our fourth and final theater outing will be A WONDERFUL WORLD, the new musical at Studio 54 celebrating the life of the great Louis Armstrong.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19:
Enjoy your New York Sunday morning with the New York Times and a leisurely breakfast; take in a service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral or St. Thomas Episcopal Church with its Choir of Men & Boys nearby. Coach transportation will be provided to the airport for afternoon flights home.
