NEW YORK JAZZ TRIP

October 9 – 13, 2024

WEDNESDAY, October 9
George will book your airfare for you aboard a non-stop flight to New York (airfare not included in trip cost) and provide private transportation to the WESTHOUSE HOTEL on 55th Street & Seventh Avenue. Tonight we will have a get-acquainted cocktail & dinner party at Frank Sinatra’s favorite; the family owned PATSY’S Italian.

THURSDAY, October 10
A full breakfast is included each morning of your stay. Today we will have a private coach take us to Queens to visit the
museum & home of LOUIS ARMSTRONG, practically the founder of American Jazz.

A complimentary “Happy Hour” and buffet is available 5 – 7 PM at the WESTHOUSE each day.

Tonight we take in the Jazz set at BIRDLAND, among the oldest and best jazz clubs in New York.

FRIDAY, October 11
The morning is free but late this afternoon there will be a jazz themed walking tour of Greenwich Village. After a break for dinner on your own in the Village we will meet at the famed VILLAGE VANGUARD for the early set.

The Village Vanguard opened on February 22, 1935, by Max Gordon. Originally, the club presented folk music and beat poetry, but it became primarily a jazz music venue in 1957. John Coltrane got his start there.

Afterward George will offer to take more hardy souls to Small’s Jazz club in the Village for the late set (cost on your own).

SATURDAY, October 12
The day is free for your own devices. 2 PM Broadway matinee tickets are available at a discount. Contact George for further details.

Tonight’s Jazz outing will include cocktails & dinner at DIZZY’S jazz club at Columbus Circle. We will take in the late set so we can stay for the jam session afterward.

SUNDAY, October 13
Check out by 11:30 AM and be ready to board private transportation to LaGuardia for flights home.
