Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd has become a worldwide success since being awarded eight Tony Awards®, (including Best Musical), for its original production. The tasty and thrilling tale of love and revenge has simultaneously shocked, awed and delighted audiences across the world for more than 40 years. MTH’s eleven actor adaptation in our intimate seven row theater is sure to make audiences feel closer to the dark and witty tale than ever before. Perhaps a little too close…

Bryan Davis

Bryan Davis is a seasoned firefighter with 12 years of distinguished service, earning accolades for his life-saving skills, exceptional service, and compassionate bedside manner. His versatile career has spanned roles from Firefighter/EMT to M.A.R.C 9-1-1 Dispatcher. Beyond his dedication
to public service, Bryan is a multi-talented artist—pianist, guitarist, dancer, actor, singer, and songwriter—with a lifelong passion for musical theater.

Inspired by classics like Little Shop of Horrors and Grease, Bryan began his theater journey at age four, eventually performing in Worlds of Fun’s “Rockin’ The House” and notable roles like Doody in Grease, Orin in Little Shop of Horrors, Artful Dodger in Oliver, and Eddie Souther in Sister Act.
Recently, he returned to the stage, starring as Shakespeare in Something Rotten and performing alongside his daughter in Cinderella.

Bryan continues to pursue his love for theater, now inspiring his youngest daughter as she follows in his footsteps, performing in Matilda Jr. while earning theater scholarships at only 12 years old. His journey is a testament to the power of pursuing one’s passions, both on and off the stage.

Drew Duncan (Judge Turpin) is delighted to be making his Kansas City debut with Music Theater Heritage. Favorite credits include CAROUSEL with ASH LAWN OPERA, LE NOZZE DI FIGARO with VIRGINIA OPERA & DES MOINES METRO OPERA, HANSEL & GRETEL with OPERA OMAHA and productions with LYRIC OPERA CHICAGO and CHICAGO OPERA THEATER. He enjoys being a regular National Anthem performer for the College World Series, KC Current, and many others. Vaughan Harrison is delighted to step into the role of Beadle Bamford in Sweeney Todd, a production that has been a dream come true for him. His passion for this iconic musical is matched only by his enthusiasm for bringing it to life on stage with Music Theater Heritage. When he’s not keeping order in the streets of
London, Vaughan channels his creativity into Seen Studio, a multipurpose space he co-founded for artists in the historic Westport District of Kansas City, MO.

Recent credits include Blues in The Night and Thoughts of a Colored Man with The Black Repertory Theater, Secret Garden with Music Theater Heritage, and Spilled Milk at The Fishtank Theater.
