MONDAY, DECEMBER 1: Arrival & Welcome dinner
Landing this morning at Heathrow airport, collect your luggage and present your Passport at Customs & Immigration. Take a London Cab or Uber to The Clermont Charing Cross Hotel on The Strand.
6:30 PM / cocktail & two-course welcome dinner in the TERRACE dining room overlooking the Strand.
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2: GLOBE THEATER & TEA
Today we will tour Shakespeare’s GLOBE THEATRE in Southwark.
After the tour we will enjoy a theater-themed high tea at THE SWAN, overlooking the RIVER THAMES.
Tonight will be our first WEST END THEATER OUTING, TBD.
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4: FREE DAY
Use this day to explore London at your leisure. You may choose to catch a double decker Hop-on-hop-off bus near the hotel or go above the city taking in a panoramic view from The London Eye. If you’re ready for shopping, visit the Christmas Markets in Hyde Park and Covent Garden.
OPTIONAL: George will take you to HAMPTON COURT built by Henry VIII. We will travel by train from Waterloo Station. After touring the palace at your leisure we will have a pub lunch at THE MUTED SWAN before returning to London by train. TRAIN FARE, ENTRY TICKET & LUNCH at your own expense
Tonight is our SECOND WEST END PLAY OR MUSICAL, TBD
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5:
Today, Fish & Chips, or perhaps Shepard’s Pie and a pint next to a cozy coal fire. Its lunch at Charles Dickens favorite pub, and the oldest in London: Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese. Afterward we will visit the Church of the Knights Templar which dates back to 1162. The Church serves Britain’s legal colleges within the Inner & Middle Temple.
Tonight is left free for your own plans in London; perhaps another show of your choosing or a special dinner out.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6: FREE DAY & West End Theater
OPTIONAL: George will take you to visit to the Churchill War Rooms & Museum at Whitehall.
TONIGHT we enjoy our THIRD Musical or Play at a London West End theater
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7: Christmas lunch ARMY & NAVY CLUB / A CHRISTMAS CAROL.
3:00 PM / Welcome glass of Prosecco then a three-course Christmas lunch at the Army & Navy Club, an exclusive private club on the Mall.
After our festive meal together, a private coach will take us to THE OLD VIC for A CHRISTMAS CAROL; 7:00 PM performance.
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 8: DAY & EVENING FREE
This morning you may like to attend services at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey or St Martin-in-the-fields. All are welcome at regular services. This is also a good for “SUNDAY ROAST” available at many restaurants & pubs.
MONDAY, DECEMBER 9: Departure
9:30 AM / Check out of the Clermont this morning and settle your account for any beverages or extra meals & services. Please have all your belongings ready to board our private coach for Heathrow. We will arrive at Heathrow around 10:30 AM.
