WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14:
arrive in New York City late this afternoon. Transportation will be provided to THE CORNELL CLUB At #6 East 44th Street, just off FIFTH AVENUE in midtown.
This evening there will be a get-acquainted cocktail reception & three-course dinner with wines in the WHITE LIBRARY of the CORNELL CLUB.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15:
a full breakfast is included each morning at the Cornell Club. This morning George will lead a BROADWAY HISTORY WALKING TOUR. Hear the stories as you walk in the footsteps of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Lerner & Loewe and the greats of the American Songbook. After the walk meet at the Museum of Broadway to meet a cast member from one of our shows. Learn first-hand what its like working on Broadway today, then admission to the museum is included.
Our first of four Broadway theater outings is JELLICAL BALL, a spectacular reimagining of CATS- among the greatest shows of all- time- starring Andre’ De Shields as Old Deuteronomy. After the show meet at SARDI’S, for a post theater nightcap. TIM & GEORGE will buy the first round.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16:
today enjoy New York in your own way; museums, shopping,Central Park or the Highline.
This moring George will offer to take you by subway to Brooklyn Heights for most spectacular view of Manhattan from across the East River. The Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building, The United Nations, Ellis Island & The Statue of Liberty all in one panorama. Walk past the one-times homes of Arron Copland, Norman Mailer, Arthur Miller, Truman Capote and Walt Whitman.
Tonight, our second Broadway Theater outing is RAGTIME with its massive new production at Lincoln Center. NOTE: TIM SCOTT will host an OPTIONAL pre-theater dinner at THE GRAND TIER within the Metropolitan Opera House, dining beneath the iconic Chagall Tapestries. Additional cost / see registration.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17:
the morning is free to enjoy New York your own way. For the matinee performance this afternoon, the choice is yours included in the trip cost. TIM says “If you haven’t seen it, choose HADESTOWN” while GEORGE suggests “BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB”. Maybe a cutting edge new show that peaks your interest like “MAYBE HAPPY ENDING”. After your matinee meet at CAFFE’ UN DEUX TROIS the popular Broadway hang-out on 44th Street. A cocktail & house wines go with our two-course dinner before an evening performance.
Our fourth and final theater outing is TBD. Tim & George have their eye on several shows coming up this spring.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18:
enjoy your New York Sunday morning with the New York Times and a leisurely breakfast; visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Coach transportation will be provided to the airport for afternoon flights home.
